This vanity replaced a tiny corner pedestal sink in a 1930s bathroom with almost no room to spare. At about 18 inches square, it fits a space that no off-the-shelf vanity of this quality is made for, and it adds storage the room never had.
Most small vanities give up the top drawer to a false front, or to a U-shaped drawer that wraps around the plumbing. This one has a working drawer about six inches deep, with room for toothbrushes and cosmetics, and a cabinet below. The frame is rift white oak for its straight, quiet grain, and the drawer front and door are flatsawn white oak. A Kraus vessel sink is fitted to the top, and the whole piece is finished in a natural hard wax oil.
