This floating canvas frame is made of elm, a species that's become uncommon in lumberyards since Dutch elm disease took most of the mature trees. The mitered corners are reinforced with keys, and the frame is finished in a natural hard wax oil. I take commissions for floating frames for paintings and other works on canvas. Artwork pictured is by Betty Lou Schlemm, oil on canvas.
